The recent wet weather down here in the South West makes us all realise that we should have staked and supported some of our plants earlier in the summer when we had the chance. Funny how we always have these good intentions and then never quite get round to it until it’s too late!
However, help is at hand. As an emergency measure, some inexpensive half hoops and border guards can provide just the lift you need to keep flowers off the paths and lawns (and each other!). They’ll keep the garden looking good rather than weather beaten and then can be stored easily in the shed or garage over the winter. But don’t forget to add some proper plant supports into your borders next year!
