Sherborne Castle Country Fair

Bank Holiday Monday sees us at Sherborne Castle. It’s our first year attending and everyone tells us it’s a good show so we’re looking forward to it. The fair is all about raising money for local charities, especially those for children. Since 1996 they’ve raised over £1.2 million so it’s great to be supporting such a positive venture.
Buckfast Abbey Garden Fayre

Last year’s inaugural fair was excellent with over 130 stalls. This year sees another family day out, enjoying all things garden related plus food, drink and entertainment throughout the day and garden talks galore. There’s free entry and parking so why not come along. http://www.buckfast.org.uk
Cothay Manor Garden, Plants, Craft and Food Fair

This is our first year at this event, held in the 12-acre gardens of one of Somerset’s finest historic houses. We love attending fairs in these glorious settings so please come and see us. More information.
Hardy Plant Society Summer Plant Market

The Devon Group of the Hardy Plant Society is holding its Summer Plant Market again at Burrow Farm Gardens. Lots of lovely plants to buy from specialist nurseries. And of course plant supports and other garden items from The Gardener’s Blacksmith.
Axe Vale Show
Saturday and Sunday 22-23 June 2019, 10.00am-5.30pm, The Showground, Trafalgar Way, Axminster EX13 5RJ
This is a super family show with a floral marquee, crafts, demonstrations and lots of entertainments. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves there last year and have nothing but praise for the volunteers who run this. And as it’s the 25th anniversary show we expect it will be something special. Musbury Barton, NGS

To coincide with the opening of the garden at Musbury Barton, we shall be opening the Gardener’s Blacksmith forge at adjacent Musbury Farm. The forge will be signposted from the garden. We shall be making a donation from sales to the NGS. Musbury Barton features 5 acres of gardens. For further information see the NGS website entry.
Exeter Craft Festival
Thursday 4 (10am-5.30pm), Friday 5 (9.30am-5.30pm) and Saturday 6 (9.30am-5pm) July 2019, Cathedral Green, Exeter EX1 1HS
This is a very different type of event with many visitors just happening to catch the festival as they visit the majestic cathedral or pass through on their way across Cathedral Green. Over 100 stalls in a unique tented village give the visitor the opportunity to see the work of the West Country’s best artists and makers. More information
Uplyme & Lyme Regis Horticultural Society Summer Show and Country Fayre

A great village show serving both Lyme Regis and Uplyme. Potato themed classes in the Horticultural Show, games, live music and entertainment, steam train rides, family dog show, food and craft stalls, country skills demonstrations, sideshows, games, and refreshments on the playing field, in the big marquee and in the village hall. We’ll be part of the Mid-Devon Crafts Guild Marquee. This is a very large, one-day show so make sure you allow yourself plenty of time to explore and take in the atmosphere. More information
Taunton Flower Show

Our first time at this country show with its beautiful setting across meadows along the River Teign and with a wonderful backdrop of Dartmoor Hills. There’s a great mix of farming, crafts and horticulture and we’ll be one of the 200+ stands. An exciting new venture for us so we’re hoping for some decent weather! More information

This is a splendid agricultural show by the sea, packed full of exhibits including livestock, horses, homecrafts and horticulture. There are over 400 trade stands and it really is an excellent day out. More information
Athelhampton House Autumn Plant & Craft Fair
Sunday 1 September 2019, 10am-3pm, Athelhampton House, DT2 7LG
Plant Heritage organise this fair in conjunction with Athelhampton House – a happy mix of plants, local craft and garden-related stalls. It’s a beautiful setting, with 25 exhibitors positioned on the lawn in front of the 15th century house. Admission is £7 which includes access to the house and gardens. Further information.
North Perrott Art & Rural Crafts Fair 2019
Saturday and Sunday 12 and 13 October 2019, 11am-4.30pm, Manor Farm, North Perrott, TA18 7SU
This lovely event is held in the barns and stables of Manor Farm to showcase local artists and creative talent. It coincides with the annual apple tasting weekend organised by North Perrott Fruit Farm. There’s plenty to see and do in the village so well worth a trip. Check for more information.
