Spring Plant Fair

Colyton Garden & Food Festival
Saturday 12 May 2020, 10am-4pm, Colyton Grammar School, Whitwell Lane, Colyford, Devon, EX24 6HN
This is a great show with more than 60 stalls focused on gardening and food (there is no better combination!). Organised and run by the Colyton Grammar School Parents’ Association. this has a wide range of plant stalls, artisan food and drink traders and local craftspeople. Well worth a visit. Athelhampton Spring Fair
Sunday 3 May 2020, 10am-3pm, Athelhampton House, Dorchester DT2 7LG
This is a such a super event set on the lawn of Athelhampton House and with a good range of interesting nurseries and selected plant-related items, including of course our plant supports and garden structures. Entry fee of £7 includes admission to the grounds and gardens which are well worth a visit in their own right. More about Athelhampton House, now under new ownership.
Minterne Spring Fair

It’s our first year at Minterne and as it’s such a super garden, we’re sure it’s going to be a great event. The fair is held in aid of the RNLI and St Andrew’s Church, Minterne Magna so it’s well worth supporting.
Sherborne Castle Country Fair
Bank Holiday Monday 25 May 2020, 10am-6pm, Sherborne, DT9 5NR
This fair, set in the spectacular grounds surrounding Sherborne Castle is run by volunteers for charity. It features country activities; trade, craft and food stands; and entertainment, including a very large Rare Breed Show. We’re looking forward to our second year here, set amongst the many nurseries who attend. More information.
Hardy Plant Society Summer Plant Market

Burrow Farm Gardens Plant Fairs are always excellent and Helen Brown’s organisation on behalf of the Devon branch of the Hardy Plant Society is exemplary. This is a great chance to see lots of good nurseries in one place, find about more about the Hardy Plant Society and visit Burrow Farm Gardens. Axe Vale Show

Axe Vale always has a really good atmosphere and last year it was good to see more plant stalls coming back to this show. More information.
Exeter Craft Festival
Thursday 2nd (10-5.30), Friday 3rd (9.30-5.30) and Saturday 4th (9.30-5.00) July, Cathedral Green, Exeter EX1 1HS.
The Exeter Craft Festival features the very best artists & makers based in the South West and will take place as usual in the historic setting of Exeter’s Cathedral Green. The combination of art, craft and entertainment has been an annual event for over 40 years and 2020 promises to be better than ever. Over 100 stalls in a unique tented village give the visitor the opportunity to see the work of the West Country’s best artists and makers. More information.
Musbury Barton Open Forge

Our forge is based at Musbury Farm so we’re pleased to hold an ‘open forge’ to coincide with one of the NGS garden openings at Musbury Barton. We have a full range of products on show and Jonne will be working and is happy to talk people through how he works. Musbury Barton is a super garden covering 6 acres with extensive areas of well established trees and shrubs, many rare or unusual. Over 2,000 roses are spread round the garden. Stream. Pond. Lots of steps and bridges. “Always interesting never perfect.” More information.
Uplyme & Lyme Regis Flower and Produce Fair

Our local show and renamed this year to focus on flowers and produce. Lavender-themed classes in the Horticultural Show, games, live music and entertainment, steam train rides, family dog show, food and craft stalls, country skills demonstrations, sideshows, games and refreshments. Thursday 27 August, 8.30-6.00, West Bay Showgrounds, West Bay Road, Bridport, DT6 4EG
This is an outstanding one-day agricultural show and we love it. There really is something for everyone from livestock and horses to homecrafts and horticulture, with lots of scrummy food stalls and over 400 trade stands so make sure you know where to find us. The Oak Fair

So many people have told us this is a great show and that we’d do well here, so this year we’re giving it a go. It’s a celebration of the countryside, conservation, woodland, timber, traditional craft, rural history and Dorset with over 200 stalls. With our artisan approach to art and blacksmithing we should fit in nicely – even though we’re metal and not wood! And they promise local foodie stalls which sounds great. More information
